Feasibility study Seilbahn Stöckerkopf

Baiersbronn is best known for leading hotels and Michelin-starred chefs. But the municipality in the Murggtal valley also comprises much of the Schwarzwald national park and it is a popular destination of walkers and families. With an elevation of 790 meters the Stöckerkopf mountain is the site of the most attractive ski slope in the northern Black Forest, an excellent paragliding area, a site for mountain cart descents and home to the Glasmännle Cottage. The summit is served by a 50 years old double chair which has to be replaced by 2019 at the latest.

In a feasibility study Montenius Consult examined various possibilities for its replacement, including some that would provide a direct connection to the Baiersbronner train station. For all variants profitability calculations were performed and in the end two solutions were indicated as the most promising.
